Aiding in Treatment Planning & Dental Repairs
At Big Bay Dental, we use dental technology to inform treatment planning and help make dental treatments more efficient.
Our intraoral scanners and digital X-rays allow us to gather detailed information about your oral health and develop personalized treatment plans to address your specific issues.
Chairside monitors allow us to share scans and X-rays with you so we can point out any problems that have been detected and walk you through your treatment options.
When restorations are required, SprintRay technology allows us to create custom-fitted in-lays, onlays and crowns right in our office. Helping us to reduce the number of appointments needed to restore good oral health.
Odyssey Diode Laser
We use diode laser technology for preventative care and soft tissue modification. This laser enables our dentists to perform dental procedures with less pain and fewer medical interventions. At Big Bay Dental, we use this technology to contour the gum line, treat gum disease, and decrease inflammation.
Intraoral Scanners
Intraoral scanners create digital dental impressions, an ideal alternative to traditional impressions that many patients find messy and time-consuming. Your dentist simply uses an optical scanning wand to take detailed images of the hard and soft tissues of your mouth, capture accurate data and create digital replicas.
SprintRay Digital Printer
In-office dental 3D printing helps improve the efficiency of restorative dental care. We will begin the process by using an intraoral scanner to take digital impressions of your teeth and bite. These images will be sent to our computer where we can design your new restoration, such as a crown or bridge.
Digital X-Rays
Instead of traditional photographic X-ray film, digital X-rays use digital sensors to produce highly detailed computer images of the teeth, gums, and other oral structures. These detailed images allow your dentist to examine parts of your mouth that aren't visible with the naked eye, and spot problems hidden below the gumline.
Panoramic X-Rays
Panoramic X-rays are used to create a single image of your entire mouth. This image is a flat representation of the teeth, upper and lower jaws, temporomandibular joints (TMJ), and nasal and sinus structures. Panoramic X-rays can be especially helpful when treatment includes dentures, braces, extractions or implants.
Oral Cancer Screening Device
The VELscope® is an oral cancer screening device that helps your dentist detect the earliest signs of abnormalities and diseases in the mouth, such as cancerous and pre-cancerous lesions. Using fluorescence visualization technology, VELscope cancer screening can be performed in your dentist’s office as part of your routine exam.
